Joe cut his teeth early in construction by working on his family farm. Later he would learn the ropes through different trades, working in asphalt, landscape, and rough in carpentry. Working along side some of the largest builders in the country he was able to learn valuable processes and systems in home construction. He earned a degree in Construction Management with an emphasis in Architecture Design, and a minor in Business Management from Brigham Young University. As a project lead at Cardinal Crest Joe works closely with clients designing their homes, and helping their ideas become reality. Solving problems and finding creative solutions to home design and construction are some of the things he loves about his job. Joe lives in Kansas City with his wife and his three children. He enjoys the outdoors, playing music, and discovering new restaurants.
Adam Shaeffer

Adam’s passion for construction began at an early age. Having a father in the home building and remodeling industry, he learned the ins and outs of construction. Designing and building homes has allowed Adam to use his creative nature to help fulfill his client’s dreams. There is nothing more rewarding than providing a home where families will create long lasting memories, traditions, and relationships. He received a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management with an emphasis in Architectural Design and minor in Business Management from Brigham Young University. He lives with his wife Tessa and their 3 children in Kansas City.
Kurt Nielsen
Chief of Operations

Kurt joined our team in early 2014. He graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture. Kurt has always had a mind for finance and was eager to learn when presented with the opportunity to change career paths and join Cardinal Crest. In the office he works closely with the banks to track the progress and budget of each home. He and his wife Meagan and their 4 children live in Kansas City.
Megan Holloway
Interior Designer

Megan is our in-house Interior Designer and Selection Specialist. She meets with our clients at our various vendor locations to help them select the perfect design details to bring their dream homes to life. Megan became interested in design at a young age, gathering design related magazines and saving pages that were inspiring to her. While her taste has evolved since those early years, her love of design has not. Megan joined the Cardinal Crest team in 2018 after several years of working in the design and new home build industries. Megan lives in Kansas City with her husband Chris and their daughter Rowyn. She enjoys camping, concerts, traveling and being outdoors.
Eric McKell
Architectural Designer

Eric joined the team full-time in 2018 after interning with Cardinal Crest the previous summer. He loves the creative freedom that comes from working in residential construction, so he was thrilled when Cardinal Crest gave him the opportunity to help families build their own custom homes. As draftsman/estimator, Eric helps to create a 3D model of a home before construction begins. He then works closely with subcontractors to estimate the total cost of the home. Eric graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management. He and his wife Jaden live in Kansas City.
